Archeologists Uncover Ancient Mayan City
September 2000:

The area of the ruins in GUATEMALA CITY is larger than two football fields. The palace, with more than 170 high-ceiling rooms and 11 courtyards, is said to be one of the most splendid structures of Mayan kings ever to be discovered.

Large quantities of jade and with obsidian and pyrite have been discovered. They used those materials to make mirrors.The site is called Cancuen, (can-ku-win) an ancient Maya word meaning "Place of the Serpent''
